Five reasons families choose the Marin School for Gifted Education.
At GATE, teachers have decades of experience working with gifted learners. We understand how gifted learners thrive. It is our mission to provide our students with differentiated, accelerated, inquiry-based curriculum in a setting that promotes joy and curiosity!
Our teachers design new curricula for each inquiry period. GATE students have the opportunity to think deeply about complex topics that they would not otherwise encounter in a traditional school setting. Teachers tailor curriculum to the current student cohort meeting their specific interests and academic needs.
GATE kids have deep empathy. Deep empathy often comes with intense emotions and a keen awareness of the injustice in the world. At GATE, social-emotional learning is a part of everything we do and learn. Kids are grouped with like-minded peers as they navigate their inner emotional landscape while learning to experience and appreciate the perspectives of others.
At GATE, K through 8th-grade students interact constantly, forging a strong, caring community for all the students. Older students have ample opportunity to mentor the younger kids by providing math and reading support. All classes attend each other’s oral presentations, providing an enthusiastic and supportive audience for each other.
GATE parents have the benefit of a community of parents who understand the unique challenges and joys of raising gifted children. In addition to regular parent meetings hosted by GATE’s Head of School, parents regularly get together to support each other and facilitate fun for their kids!
Tours are given to one family at a time, by appointment. We would love to meet you.
